Job description

FPSG's client is a rapidly growing market disrupter in their specialized field. Their expansion has led to the creation of a new engineering hub in the UK. They develop powerful, scalable, and elegant software that sets new standards for the emergency services sector. Their unique approach involves early adoption of next-generation AI-augmented engineering, pioneering how software is designed, developed, and delivered using intelligent agentic solutions.

In this Agentic AI Engineering role, the key responsibilities will include:
  1. Designing multi-agent systems with coding-focused agents, including coding, reviewing, and testing.
  2. Constructing prompts, logic, and scaffolding to guide each agent's behavior.
  3. Managing AI tools to enable agents to access file systems, test runners, version control, and API connections.
  4. Evaluating and improving agents' output, performance, and collaboration through feedback loops.
  5. Prototyping new coding assistant workflows using open-source LLMs.
  6. Participating in architecture discussions on agentic build pipelines.
  7. Contributing to the development of AI-powered interfaces for internal tooling.
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
  1. At least 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with familiarity in a tech stack such as Java, TypeScript, React, and MySQL.
  2. Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Windsurf, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Enterprise ChatGPT.
  3. Practical experience with AI tools like LangChain / LangGraph is highly desirable.
  4. Exposure to LLM APIs, codegen platforms, vector databases, and agentic frameworks.
  5. A disruptor mindset and interest in creating solutions with real-world impact.
  6. A passion for experimentation, iteration, and continuous learning.

This role is focused on applying AI tools in real-world development workflows, not AI research. Hands-on experience with AI in software development is essential.

Please note:
  • Hybrid working is flexible, but candidates should be within easy commuting distance of Glasgow City Centre or Manchester City Centre.
  • The role requires candidates to be based within the UK due to sensitive data considerations.
  • Currently, the client does not offer visa sponsorship.
