Job summary

SII Group is seeking an AI Software Engineer to develop AI-enabled software solutions using Python, Generative AI and Large Language Models. You will build intelligent automation, integrate AI models and create scalable REST APIs within a modern engineering environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply best practices in testing, design patterns and data pipelines, and contribute to production-quality code in an agile setting across multiple UK offices.

Qualifications

• Proven Python development experience in commercial projects.
• Experience with Generative AI and LLMs.
• Understanding of MCP and agentic AI concepts.
• Experience integrating AI models with cloud services.
• Proficient in REST APIs, web services and microservices.
• Knowledge of Git, automated testing and clean code practices.

The role will focus on building intelligent automation and validation frameworks, integrating AI models, and developing scalable software solutions within a modern engineering environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop AI-powered applications and automation frameworks using Python.
• Build intelligent agents and workflows using LLMs, Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent-based architectures.
• Integrate foundation models through cloud-based AI platforms.
• Develop prompt engineering, AI evaluation and guardrail frameworks.
• Build and maintain data processing and validation pipelines.
• Design scalable REST APIs, web services, microservices and SDKs.
• Develop clean, reusable and well-tested production-quality code.
• Troubleshoot and optimise software performance, reliability and automation.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong commercial Python development experience.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs or AI-powered applications.
• Understanding of agentic AI and ideally MCP.
• Experience integrating AI models and cloud-based AI services.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, web services and microservices.
• Knowledge of Git, automated testing, clean coding and software design patterns.
• Understanding of data pipelines and data management.
• Experience developing production-quality software within an Agile environment.
