Job summary

Sage is transforming from traditional accounting software into an AI-powered financial platform. We seek a Group Product Manager for Payments & Fintech to shape how small businesses get paid, manage payments and access capital in the UK & Ireland, with Canada expansion and global ambitions.

The role is hybrid with 3 days in our Newcastle office. You’ll drive strategy, lead cross-functional teams and build scalable, AI-enabled financial experiences across markets.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in payments, fintech or financial services products.
• Strong commercial mindset with link between strategy and measurable outcomes.
• Ability to set direction, prioritise decisively and translate strategy into valuable products.
• Experience influencing diverse, cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Customer-led, data-driven approach to discovery, experimentation and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the payments & fintech roadmap across AR, AP and access to capital.
• Own portfolio outcomes, grow payments adoption and revenue opportunities.
• Create seamless experiences using customer insight, experimentation and AI-powered workflows.
• Partner with global platform and engineering teams to build scalable payment capabilities and APIs.
• Lead through influence with cross-functional alignment around a shared vision.
• Navigate regulatory and market differences while maintaining a coherent global platform.
• Use AI to accelerate discovery and decision-making with quality and responsible use.
