Job summary

Jobtailor in Leeds is seeking a platform operations lead to promote and mature our AI self-service capabilities. You will onboard and integrate the product into the platform infrastructure while balancing user needs against imperfect maturity.

We value strong communication, AWS expertise, and the ability to coordinate across PhD-heavy teams. Knowledge of Claude and coaching others on AI tooling is a plus, with life sciences experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Solid knowledge of AWS and cloud platforms.
• Platform operations experience in a complex environment.
• Comfort with fast-moving, ambiguous settings and imperfect maturity.
• Familiarity with Claude AI tooling (desirable).
• Interest in coaching and upskilling colleagues on AI tooling (desirable).
• Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote and mature the AI platform toward self-service capability.
• Onboard and integrate the product into the underlying platform infrastructure.
• Balance imperfections against real user deployment needs.
• Capture business requirements, perform gap analysis, prioritise delivery.
• Act as bridge between teams reporting into the platform engineering lead.
• Educate the wider team on AI tooling to improve efficiency.
• Align stakeholders across teams and make pragmatic decisions on tooling.
• Support adoption of new AI capabilities in a PhD-heavy culture.
