Job summary

Jobtailor in Leeds is seeking a platform operations lead to promote and mature our AI self-service capabilities. You will onboard and integrate the product into the platform infrastructure while balancing user needs against imperfect maturity.

We value strong communication, AWS expertise, and the ability to coordinate across PhD-heavy teams. Knowledge of Claude and coaching others on AI tooling is a plus, with life sciences experience welcomed.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Solid knowledge of AWS and cloud platforms.
• Platform operations experience in a complex environment.
• Comfort with fast-moving, ambiguous settings and imperfect maturity.
• Familiarity with Claude AI tooling (desirable).
• Interest in coaching and upskilling colleagues on AI tooling (desirable).
• Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences is a plus.

• Balance ongoing product imperfections against the practical needs of real user deployment
• Capture business requirements, perform gap analysis, and prioritise delivery over perfection
• Act as a communication and negotiation bridge between separate teams reporting into the platform engineering lead
• Help educate the wider team on AI tooling to improve day-to-day operational efficiency
• Align stakeholders across teams and make pragmatic decisions on imperfect tooling

Requirements

• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment while balancing imperfect product maturity against user needs
• Familiarity with AI tooling such as Claude (desirable)

• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry (nice to have, not mandatory)
