Job summary

Rackspace Technology is seeking a senior AI architecture leader to define and own the architecture strategy for AI platforms and applications across Rackspace. Design scalable, reusable AI architecture patterns — including agentic systems, multi-agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and orchestration frameworks; define non-functional requirements such as scalability, latency, cost efficiency, and security.

Qualifications

• Architecture Thinking — design complex, distributed systems; govern architecture at an org level.
• AI Systems Design — hands-on with agentic systems, RAG pipelines, LL M‑integrated apps.
• Technical Leadership — set engineering direction and enable cross-functional teams.
• Python — expert-level with async patterns, testing, packaging, production practices.
• Cloud Architecture (AWS) — deep compute/networking/storage and managed AI services.
• LangChain / LangGraph — production experience building agentic/orchestration systems.
• AWS Bedrock — experience selecting and working with foundation models.
• Kubernetes — production workloads, Helm/resource management.
• Full Stack Systems Design — end-to-end system and platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the architecture strategy for AI platforms and applications across Rackspace
• Design scalable, reusable AI architecture patterns including agentic systems and RAG pipelines
• Define non-functional requirements such as scalability, latency, cost efficiency, and security
• Create and govern architecture standards, conduct design reviews, ensure consistency across teams
• Lead build vs. buy vs. partner decisions for AI tooling, frameworks, and infrastructure
• Ensure interoperability across frontend, backend, AI, and Kubernetes-based infrastructure
• Own the long-term technical vision for the AI engineering function beyond delivery cycles
• Partner with product, data, and platform teams to shape the AIR team's roadmap
• Mentor and grow senior engineers through architecture reviews and standards
• Serve as a key technical voice in cross-team architecture and governance discussions
• Champion responsible AI practices and AI-native software development standards
