KPMG UK is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape technical direction for a portfolio of products within Technology & Solutions. You will lead engineering teams, contribute hands-on, and embed AI-native practices across the SDLC to deliver secure, scalable software.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering enterprise-grade software.
• Hands-on technical contribution while coaching engineers.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, security, and governance for AI-enabled delivery.
• Proven ability to drive secure-by-design development with observability and modern testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide accountability and engineering direction for a portfolio of products and teams.
• Lead by example with hands-on technical contribution.
• Embed AI-native practices across the SDLC (prompt engineering, AI code review, human-in-the-loop).
• Champion modern testing, CI/CD, and secure deployment at scale.
• Collaborate with solution architects to align with architectural patterns.
