Job summary

QuantumLoopAI is seeking an AI/ML & Prompt Engineer to own the intelligence behind EMMA—the LLM and RAG systems powering our chatbot, voice agent and telephony services for GP surgeries. This hands-on role designs, builds and optimises models and prompts to understand patient needs and retrieve accurate clinical information.

You will collaborate with frontend and backend teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive MLOps and governance as we scale healthcare AI across England.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy LLM- and RAG-based systems powering chatbot and voice agent interactions.
• Design, iterate and optimise prompts and dialogue flows to maximise relevance, reduce latency and ensure clinical safety.
• Collaborate with frontend (Next.js, React) and backend (NestJS, Python) to integrate AI into Azure microservices.
• Instrument pipelines, analyse logs and feedback, troubleshoot edge cases, and implement continuous-learning improvements.
• Stay abreast of advances in LLMs, RAG, conversational AI frameworks, and GDPR/DTAC to inform our roadmap.
• Define and execute test plans with QA to validate model accuracy, voice‑agent performance and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote MLOps, prompt engineering and model governance.
