Job summary

Clearly Jobs Ltd. is seeking an AI/ML Engineer for a King’s Cross, London role at a well-funded AI business. You will design, build and operate LLM-powered systems in production, shaping product direction and technical strategy.

Work includes building multi-step agent workflows, production-scale RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks and monitoring. You’ll collaborate with leadership and mentor engineers to raise standards.

Qualifications

• Strong Python software engineering expertise.
• Commercial experience deploying LLM/ML systems.
• Experience with LangGraph/LangChain or similar agent orchestration frameworks.
• RAG experience with embeddings, vector databases and retrieval evaluation.
• Understanding of graph-based retrieval or graph data modelling.
• Experience with evaluation-led AI development, testing frameworks and regression controls.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
• Ability to balance model performance, reliability, security and operating costs in production.

Responsibilities

• Build multi-step AI agent workflows.
• Develop production-scale RAG systems.
• Create evaluation frameworks, testing infrastructure and monitoring for AI apps.
• Design retrieval pipelines including embeddings, vector search, reranking and knowledge retrieval.
• Work with graph-based retrieval and data modelling approaches.
• Optimize AI systems for accuracy, latency, scalability and cost efficiency.
• Integrate leading foundation models into production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to shape technical direction.
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices for AI development at Lead level.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle using Python and cloud-based infrastructure.
