Job summary

Wipro is seeking a Data Scientist in Manchester, UK, for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will frame problems, develop and evaluate classical ML and LLM solutions, and communicate results with robust experimentation and clear evaluation metrics.

You will collaborate with UK and offshore teams, define model metrics, and create model cards to document developed solutions. This is a hands-on, impact-driven data science role in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in framing data science and AI use cases.
• Knowledge of AI/ML evaluation metrics.
• Experience developing and evaluating classical ML and LLM solutions.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and RAG fundamentals.
• Experience producing model cards or equivalent documentation.

Responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into well-defined data science and AI problems.
• Develop and evaluate classical machine learning and large language model solutions.
• Define and apply appropriate AI and machine learning metrics.
• Support prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation approaches.
• Design and analyse experiments to assess model performance and solution impact.
• Create model cards and clear documentation for developed solutions.
• Collaborate with UK and offshore teams and relevant stakeholders.
