Job description

As an AI & Learning Analytics Specialist, you will leverage your background in AI, data science, or educational technology, along with your stakeholder engagement skills, to develop a platform that delivers inclusive, scalable, and data-driven learning experiences, particularly for neurodiverse learners.

Your strong programming skills in Python or similar languages will be essential as you collaborate with experts from ENU and FSUK to develop and test innovative tools such as predictive analytics dashboards, personalized learning pathways, and hybrid learning models. The goal is to embed these capabilities within the organization and support their commercial rollout.

We expect you to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to apply your knowledge to commercial projects. This includes identifying user requirements, testing app usability, and reporting on app development findings.

Your passion for data science/engineering and artificial intelligence will motivate you to manage and deliver the programme of work, leading a groundbreaking project that aims to set a new standard in learning technology.

This role, supported by an academic team from Edinburgh Napier University and based at FSUK’s premises in Brighton, offers an exciting opportunity to make an industry impact and advance your career.

The objective is to transform digital education at Functional Skills UK by creating an AI-Enabled Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL) Platform, a flexible mobile app, and advanced data tools to personalize learning and support neurodiverse students.

Functional Skills UK is an independent, Brighton-based boutique training provider with courses in Kent, Sussex, and Surrey. They offer a wide range of qualifications, including Functional Skills and online short courses, available both online and face-to-face. They also run leisure courses through their sister company, Swim UK.
