Job summary

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Lead to join the Digital team on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract to drive AI exploration, implementation and responsible adoption across the organisation.

You will report to the Head of Digital Technology and lead initiatives to improve AI maturity, identify high‑value opportunities, and pilot solutions including intelligent document management, customer communications and automation of repetitive processes.

Qualifications

• You will have a degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience developing proofs of concept, prototypes or pilot solutions; implementing AI‑driven workflows such as OCR, automation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Identify valuable AI opportunities by engaging stakeholders, assessing organisational maturity and translating business problems into practical solutions.
• Develop proofs of concept, prototypes or pilot solutions and pilot practical AI implementations.
• Turn organisational challenges into safe, practical AI opportunities and support successful solutions into operational use.
• Maintain AI documentation and contribute to SPT’s AI strategy and governance.
