Role Requirements:

• Lead the technical delivery of high-impact AI/ML projects and ensure engineering quality across key deliverables.
• Present complex AI research clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Direct novel research activities and engage with leading UK academic institutions.
• Provide mentoring and day-to-day guidance to junior colleagues.
• Support customer engagements across defence, security, and commercial sectors.

Skills & Experience:

• PhD in a relevant field with around 10+ years of experience in AI/ML (ideally in the defence or security domain).
• Deep knowledge in one or more areas such as NLP, reinforcement learning, with broad awareness of other AI disciplines.
• Strong mathematical, statistical, and computational background underpinning AI/ML work.
• Demonstrated ability to provide engineering assurance and review of technical proposals and reports.
• Confident communicator with a track record of leading research and delivering high-quality outputs.
