Job description

We're looking for a strategic and detail-oriented AI Governance Project Manager to lead the development and rollout of governance practices across Vonage's growing suite of AI products and services. This role is perfect for someone who understands the importance of building AI responsibly, balancing innovation with compliance, ethics, and transparency.

Your key responsibilities:

Act as a central coordination point for AI governance across Vonage, working with IT, InfoSec, Legal, Architecture, Engineering, and Product teams to evaluate AI initiatives from a risk and compliance lens.
Review and triage incoming AI-related requests from different business units, including cross-functional and technical teams, and assess the potential risks and implications of AI use in each case.
Determine the acceptability of AI-related risks, collaborating closely with AI Product Managers, engineering leads, and the AI Governance Council to ensure requests align with company policies and external regulations.
Facilitate governance reviews, stakeholder meetings, and manage the full AI request funnel, ensuring visibility, accountability, and timely closure of requests across the organization.
Provide clear categorization, documentation, and status updates of AI governance activities to stakeholders across multiple BUs.

A strong background in project or program management with at least 5+ years of experience, ideally in AI, compliance, or data governance.
A working understanding of AI/ML concepts, including explainability, bias, data lineage, and model lifecycle management.
Familiarity with AI regulatory landscapes such as the EU AI Act, GDPR, and emerging global frameworks.
Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse teams toward a common governance framework.
Comfort with technical documentation and ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable plans.
