Job summary

UST is seeking an AI Governance SME & Advisor to help a major client build foundations for responsible AI adoption at enterprise scale. You will work directly with senior leaders to translate strategy into practical governance outcomes.

The role is UK-based with hybrid working (London/Leeds) and travel to client sites across the UK. Initial focus will be advisory and design, followed by implementing and operationalising the governance framework.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or implementing AI governance, risk or responsible AI frameworks.
• Understanding of AI regulations and standards such as the EU AI Act, ISO 42001 or NIST AI RMF.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting skills.
• Experience working with senior business, risk, compliance, security or technology leaders.
• Ability to turn complex concepts into clear, practical actions.
• Collaborative, pragmatic approach with a passion for helping organisations navigate AI safely.

Responsibilities

• Shape and embed the client's AI governance approach.
• Advise senior stakeholders on governing AI safely, responsibly and effectively.
• Design practical AI governance frameworks, operating models and decision processes.
• Help establish AI governance boards, ownership models and accountability structures.
• Create governance processes for AI use cases from assessment to monitoring.
• Support implementation of AI governance platforms, inventories and reporting capabilities.
• Translate AI regulations and standards into practical guidance for business teams.
• Collaborate with security, legal, privacy and technology specialists to manage AI risks.
• Assist organisations in adopting emerging technologies such as generative AI and AI agents.
