Job summary

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking an AI Research Engineer (Pre-training) to join HAIL, the AI Labs responsible for developing foundation models for markets. You will improve large-scale model training, data loading, parallelism, and fault tolerance while collaborating with researchers to shape the research agenda.

The role involves work on multiple GPU clusters, with a strong emphasis on impactful system design and ongoing innovation.

Qualifications

• High engineering skill in GPU kernel and base DL stack development.
• At least two years building deep learning systems across domains.
• Ability to translate methods between application areas is valued.
• LLM experience is valuable but not required.
• Finance experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Improve all aspects of large-scale model training, including kernel development, data loading, parallelism, networking and fault-tolerance.
• Collaborate with researchers to co-design and improve models and shape research directions.
• Work with multiple GPU clusters to maximize performance and efficiency.
