Job summary

University of Cambridge invites applications for two Research Assistant / Associate roles at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI) within the Institute for Technology and Humanity (ITH). The positions are full-time for 24 months, with a December start date preferred.

The successful candidates will work on a project to establish 'red lines' for AI using cognitive capability and propensity profiles, drawing from AI, statistics, psychology, and governance.

Qualifications

• PhD must be completed for Associate grade; submitted PhD acceptable for Assistant grade.
• Experience in AI evaluation and interdisciplinary research is desired.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to establishing 'red lines' for AI using cognitive capability and propensity profiles.
• Work on AI Evaluation drawing from AI safety, Bayesian statistics and causal modelling.
• Collaborate across disciplines including psychology and AI governance.
