Job summary

CoStar Group in Glasgow, United Kingdom is seeking an AI Engineer I to help design and operate AI-powered products. You’ll work with senior engineers to develop LLM and AI/ML applications, translating product needs into robust technical solutions while learning modern AI techniques in a fast-paced environment.

The role targets early-career engineers with strong Python skills, capable of delivering production-ready code, and eager to grow within AI/ML and backend systems across data, retrieval,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and software fundamentals.
• Experience building at least one AI/ML application or project.
• Understanding of prompting, embeddings, retrieval, and agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI/ML components including LLM, retrieval, and agentic systems.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions with engineers and stakeholders.
• Build experiments to measure quality, latency, and cost of AI services.
• Prepare data requirements for AI applications including retrieval/embedding data.
• Deploy, monitor, debug, and improve AI services in production.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in reviews and documentation.
