Job summary

Leeds Building Society is seeking an AI Engineer to join our Data Strategy team and help build practical, secure and responsible AI solutions for colleagues, customers and members.

You will design, implement and embed AI capabilities, working with business teams, architects, security, risk and data colleagues to take ideas from proof of concept through to scalable, well-governed solutions in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on design, build and support of enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience with Python and cloud-based AI platforms.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Awareness of data protection, UK GDPR and security principles.

How you'll make a difference

You'll design, build and embed AI capabilities that solve real business problems and support our transformation, data and AI ambitions. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work closely with business teams, architects, security, risk and data colleagues to take ideas from proof of concept through to scalable, well-governed solutions.

What will you bring to the role?

• Hands-on experience of designing, building, maintaining and supporting AI solutions from end to end, in an enterprise environment.
• Strong Foundry and Copilot experience
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise data, applications, APIs or workflows.
• Strong technical capability in Python.
• Awareness of responsible AI, AI risk management, data protection, UK GDPR, security and compliance principles.
• Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn business challenges into practical AI or automation solutions.
• The confidence to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex ideas clearly and collaboratively.
• Experience with cloud-based AI, analytics or engineering platforms; Databricks would be beneficial.
