Ryan's EAP Business Solutions team is looking for curious, motivated individuals who are excited by the potential of artificial intelligence and technology to solve real business problems.

As an AI-Enabled Business Solutions Intern, you will work alongside colleagues across Business Solutions, technology teams and the wider business to help identify, develop, test and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve business processes and user experiences.

This is a 6–12-month internship, based in either our Manchester or London office, designed to provide practical, hands‑on experience across AI, automation, data, process improvement and project delivery.

You will work on real business challenges, collaborate with stakeholders across Ryan and, as your skills and confidence develop, take increasing ownership of solutions and project activities.

The internship is designed for both recent graduates and university students undertaking a placement year. There may be the opportunity to progress into a permanent position at Ryan following successful completion of the internship, subject to individual performance and business requirements.

You do not need to be an AI expert when you join us. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate curiosity, strong problem‑solving skills, an interest in technology and the ability to learn quickly.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and testing of AI prompts, agents, automations and other technology-enabled business solutions.
  • Work with business teams to understand challenges, identify underlying user needs and explore where AI, technology or improved processes could provide solutions.
  • Support the delivery and coordination of AI projects, pilots and experiments from initial idea through to implementation.
  • Work alongside technical teams to support solution setup, testing, tracking and implementation.
  • Analyse data and user feedback to understand the effectiveness and impact of solutions.
  • Support project planning and maintain clear documentation, shared resources and reusable solution materials.
  • Contribute to internal demonstrations, training, communications and awareness activities to support the adoption of new solutions.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and communicate ideas and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Apply appropriate judgement when working with AI and data, including consideration of confidentiality, privacy, risk, bias and responsible AI use.
  • Contribute to both smaller assignments and larger strategic or cross‑functional projects.
  • Take increasing ownership of defined solutions, activities and project deliverables as knowledge and experience develop.
  • Build a portfolio of delivered work and measurable outcomes throughout the internship.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience

Currently undertaking a university degree with the opportunity to complete a placement year, or recently graduated. Applications are welcomed from a broad range of disciplines. Relevant areas may include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science or Analytics, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Business Analytics, Digital Business, Innovation or Technology Management. Candidates from other academic disciplines are encouraged to apply where they can demonstrate relevant skills, experience or a strong interest in AI, technology and business problem-solving. Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability, with the confidence to bring structure to unfamiliar or ambiguous problems. Genuine curiosity about AI and emerging technologies and an interest in how they can be applied to improve the way businesses operate. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly to different audiences. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders and contribute positively within a team environment. Strong learning agility and willingness to experiment, test ideas, learn from outcomes and continuously improve. Good judgement and awareness of the importance of responsible AI, data privacy and confidentiality. Strong organisation, ownership, reliability and attention to detail. An understanding of user needs and an interest in improving processes and experiences. Previous professional experience within AI or technology is not required. Relevant capability may have been developed through university projects, personal projects, employment, volunteering, coursework or other experiences. Experience using AI tools, data, automation, coding or other technology through academic, professional or personal projects would be advantageous.
