Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors in London seeks a technically adept AI/data specialist to own the AI and automation agenda for the EMEA Equity Trading desk. You will design, build and ship tools that replace manual processes, while learning the domain from experienced traders.

You will analyze trading data with Python, surface insights, and produce automated, clear outputs for senior investment professionals. Collaboration with Traders and PMs is essential to ensure usable, production-ready solutions

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical or quantitative discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficient in Python and AI-assisted development; able to code with AI tools.
• Strong AI proficiency including prompt engineering and tool orchestration.
• Numerically sharp with large, complex datasets and clear communication with non-technical audiences.
• Delivery mindset: builds durable, production-ready solutions.
• 2-3+ years in a technical, data or analytics environment; financial services exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI and automation agenda for the EMEA Equity Trading desk; design and ship AI tooling.
• Collaborate with Traders and PMs to understand data needs and pain points.
• Analyze trading datasets with Python and AI tooling to surface trends and opportunities.
• Modernize outputs to be automated, visually clear and readership-worthy.
• Run demos and share practical examples to grow desk-wide AI capability.
• Contribute to the firm's AI community and evolving best practices.
