Job summary

Waymo LLC in London is hiring for a Technical Specialist within the SWQOps team to enable safe expansion into new markets and scale operations with AI-enabled workflows. You will partner with Engineering to deploy ML/Gen‑AI tools, analyze issue trends, and define SOPs for EU driving rules.

The role demands strong ML/AI expertise, experience across the ML life cycle, and ability to work with international vendor teams in a fast-paced environment. London-based or hybrid options may apply.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a technical or analytical field, or 5+ years in AV/ADAS/robotics/complex software operations.
• On-road driving experience in Europe; familiarity with German/Spanish traffic rules.
• Experience across ML lifecycle: data prep, training, validation, deployment, monitoring.
• ML testing/validation including dataset QA, bias detection, edge cases, performance metrics.
• Ability to learn quickly, analyze data logs with 3D visualization platforms, and use proprietary tools.
• Strong communication in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering to design, test, and deploy ML/Gen‑AI models and tools.
• Leverage AI insights and signals to identify issue trends and edge cases.
• Serve as the link between AI/ML development and operational execution; define SOPs.
• Design and implement quality control for human and AI outputs, incl. EU driving rules policies.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for technical policies; consult stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and drive user testing for new tooling features.
