Job summary

Coventry University seeks a motivated Research Fellow to join an industry-led project on battery intelligence for BESSs. The role focuses on testing, data analysis, modelling, and AI-enabled SOC/SOH estimation.

The project runs for 12 months with Innovate UK funding and involves collaboration with two industry partners. Based at Coventry University, you will develop and validate algorithms, support experimental investigations, and translate research into practical battery management solutions

Qualifications

• Demonstrable expert knowledge of battery technologies, especially lithium-ion batteries and BMS.
• Advanced knowledge of research methods with ability to develop objectives, projects and proposals.
• Experience writing up research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct battery testing and data analysis to support experimental investigations.
• Develop and validate AI-enabled algorithms for SOC and SOH estimation.
• Model battery performance and contribute to lab measurements and real-world data validation.
• Collaborate with industrial partners to translate research into practical solutions.
