Job description

Join us as a AI Digital Innovation Product Owner

  • We'll look to you to undertake customer research through the development of our research hypotheses to validate and develop ideas across a range of research methodologies
  • Day-to-day, you'll create ideas for novel propositions, products or features through ideation techniques
  • Enhance your career profile by working with relevant teams and using service and experience design methodologies to design our end-to-end services and the user experience
What you'll do

As an AI Digital Innovation Product Owner, you'll ensure the timely development and release of value by setting the product vision, writing user stories and developing and value slicing the backlog, while managing the ongoing delivery through stakeholders across our bank.

Alongside this, you'll work with risk stakeholders to make sure that our products and features are secure for our customers, meet our risk appetite and comply with all policies. You'll also future proof our bank through the creation and scaling of digital propositions, products and experiences.

Your top priorities will include:

  • Creating innovative and relevant solutions to customer profiles and using customer insights to power a range of ideation, design and innovation methodologies
  • Designing customer experiences, technologies, services and processes that deliver against product strategies and keep our customers safe and secure
  • Managing our products and resources to ensure the effective maintenance of budgets and resources and the ongoing compliance against risk and product lifecycle policies
  • Driving all aspects of delivery from setting the product vision to prioritising the backlog, while working with Agile methodologies to develop and release value to customers at pace
  • Protecting our customers and bank through the identification, escalation and resolution of risks and issues and making sure that they're evidenced through governance processes
The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you'll need proven experience in digital product delivery, ideally within personal banking, where you've created and launched new features, products, or experiences. You'll be confident leading in Agile environments, running ceremonies, and guiding cross-functional teams. Experience in product ownership is desirable, but not essential, along with familiarity with design thinking methodologies.

You'll be expected to shape product vision and strategy, translate it into a prioritised backlog, and define clear user stories and acceptance criteria. You'll also need to influence stakeholders to align with your roadmap and priorities.

Furthermore, you'll need:

  • Experience developing product roadmaps, defining delivery phases, experimentation plans, outcomes and modelling value
  • The ability to organise and lead others
  • Expert level knowledge and proficiency to analyse data
  • Experience in customer journey design, ideally with some practice in conversational AI
  • Awareness of AI and the fundamentals of AI product delivery such as evaluation, ethics, model capabilities and data dependencies
  • Experience maintaining and contributing to Jira boards, progressing governance tasks, and be comfortable navigating risk
