Job summary

CORUM Butler in London seeks an English-speaking AI developer intern to assist traders by building practical tools using Python, AI, and LLMs. You will automate tasks, structure data, and create dashboards, gaining exposure to bond and derivatives markets within a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with the Head of Trading and receive mentorship, contributing to meaningful projects through their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Master’s or final-year program in CS/Engineering/Data Science or quantitative finance
• Strong Python skills with pandas and basic SQL
• Experience with large language models (OpenAI or Anthropic)
• Interest in financial markets
• Fluent English
• Curious, rigorous and able to explain technical work clearly

This 6-month internship offers a unique opportunity to apply your Python and AI skills in a fast-paced trading environment. Working closely with our traders, you’ll develop practical solutions that automate tasks, structure data, and improve trading workflows.

Your missions

We are looking for an English-speaking AI developer intern to help our traders improve trading efficiency and reduce manual tasks. In this role, you will gain exposure to bond and derivatives markets, learning how trading operations function on a day-to-day basis.

Working closely with the Head of Trading, you will design and develop practical tools using a broad range of technologies, including Python, AI, and LLMs. You will be involved in meaningful projects throughout their entire lifecycle, supported by the trading team and a dedicated mentor.

The role offers immediate visibility on the value of your work, with your tools and enhancements directly contributing to the team's effectiveness.

MISSIONS

• Understand the team's daily trading workflow and spot tasks that could be automated
• Build tools that read emails and documents (trade ideas, dealer prices, new bond issues) and turn them into clean, structured data
• Automate routine checks and daily reports
• Create simple dashboards to follow trades, positions, and performance
• Test and document your tools, following the group's IT security and compliance rules
• Present your work to the trading and portfolio management teams

Qualifications and experience

• Student in a master’s or final-year program in computer science, engineering, data science or quantitative finance
• Good Python skills (including pandas) and basic SQL
• First experience building with large language models (for example the OpenAI or Anthropic APIs), through your studies or personal projects
• Interest in financial markets
• Fluent English
• Curious, rigorous and able to explain technical work simply

A plus

• Basic knowledge of bonds or derivatives
• Excel/VBA, Power BI or Bloomberg
