Job summary

IBM Consulting FutureNow in the United Kingdom seeks experienced Data Scientists (AI) to join its Hybrid Cloud & Data service line. You will translate business challenges into practical AI solutions, balancing innovation with governance, security and measurable outcomes.

Successful candidates will apply modern AI engineering practices, work with RAG, semantic search, and knowledge retrieval, and mentor junior practitioners while delivering value for regulated industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; STEM field preferred.
• Commercial experience designing, building and deploying Data Science/AI solutions.
• Practical experience with Generative AI technologies including LLMs and RAG.
• Ability to translate business problems into AI solutions with governance and security in mind.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders and delivering end-to-end projects in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI and Data Science solutions across multiple client engagements.
• Translate complex business problems into practical analytical and AI-driven solutions.
• Deliver Generative AI use cases including RAG, semantic search and intelligent assistants.
• Apply ML and predictive modelling to structured/unstructured data.
• Conduct exploration, feature engineering, model development, evaluation and validation.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences; mentor junior staff.
