Mana Resourcing represents a UK data centre specialist recruiting a Pre-Sales Design Engineer to translate customer requirements into robust, costed AI and high-density data centre designs. The role is based in Birmingham, offering close collaboration with a key account and opportunities to shape technical solutions while supporting growth.

You will lead technical discussions, develop cooling architectures, and prepare priced proposals, including liquid cooling systems and security

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering experience within data centre infrastructure, particularly AI or high-density computing environments.
• Strong understanding of high-density compute cooling and direct liquid-cooling systems.
• Experience producing detailed, costed technical proposals.
• Ability to explain technical designs clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail when preparing calculations, specifications and estimates.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery meetings to establish customer requirements, specifications and project constraints.
• Develop data centre infrastructure designs, including layouts, cooling architecture and plant arrangements.
• Prepare and validate engineering calculations covering heat loads, design temperatures, temperature differences, flow rates and pipe sizes.
• Incorporate physical security requirements, including CCTV, and address NPSA guidance and TEMPEST requirements.
• Produce detailed cost estimates and pricing schedules covering quantities, supplier quotations, labour, design, factory fit-out, transport, cranage, site installation, testing and commissioning.
• Develop clear proposals that explain the recommended technical solution and associated costs.
