About The Opportunity

• Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote, with flexible hours to work whenever is best for you.

You may contribute your expertise by…

• Reading English text to rank responses produced by an AI model.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Examples Of Desirable Expertise

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution.
• Strong writing style, exceptional English spelling and grammar, along with good logic and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given text.

Payment

• Current pay rates for core project work by English writing experts in the US average USD $15 per hour.
• UK: Estimated up to £11/hr.
• Canada: Estimated up to $20 CAD/hr.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. For non-core work, such as onboarding or overtime, lower rates may apply. Some projects offer incentives. Please review payment terms for each project.
