Job summary

Graphcore invites you to join a 12-week summer internship in Bristol, UK, focused on AI Compute Libraries & Performance. You’ll work on C++ libraries and kernels that drive next‑gen hardware, contributing to fast and reliable numerical software while learning from senior engineers.

We welcome curious students pursuing CS, maths, ML or data science degrees, with C/C++11 and Python scripting. The program includes structured mentoring, hands-on projects, and learning resources such as O'Reilly

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in CS, maths, ML, data science or related field.
• Experience with C or C++11; familiarity with Python or scripting for automation and testing.
• Understanding of linear algebra, numerical methods or scientific computing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative approach to unfamiliar technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop compute kernels and improve operations like matrix multiplication, convolutions and fused kernels.
• Profile and benchmark performance; study threading, cache locality, memory layout and kernel launch efficiency.
• Build regression tests and numerical checks to ensure library correctness and reliability.
