Job summary

Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking a senior business analyst with deep AI domain knowledge to identify opportunities for AI across the organisation and to drive stakeholder-aligned, high-impact initiatives.

You will shape requirements, facilitate workshops, and influence senior leaders to adopt responsible AI solutions within a regulatory framework. This full-time hybrid role is based in London, with options for other UK locations.

  • Build credibility and influence at all levels of the organisation and secure buy-in for AI initiatives.
  • Translate business challenges into clear AI-enabled functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Manage and prioritise a pipeline of AI initiatives with data scientists and leadership.
  • Contribute to the AI adoption strategy with evidence-based recommendations.
  • Promote best practice in business analysis across the department.
  • Gain experience delivering experimental projects addressing real-world challenges.

Job description

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements
  • Experience in a senior business analyst role or a comparable position such as Consultant, Solution/Service Designer or Product Owner
  • Experience delivering projects across the full lifecycle, using both waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, including areas such as large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, and prompt engineering
  • Solid understanding of core Business Analysis techniques, including user journey mapping, process mapping, requirements gathering and the ability to design and facilitate collaborative workshops
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage, challenge and gain buy-in from senior leaders and subject matter experts across the organisation
  • Ability to work through complex problems, identifying underlying issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt style, language and level of detail to different audiences, from technical specialists to senior executives, ensuring complex concepts are understood and acted upon
  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments, balancing competing priorities and influencing decisions with minimal supervision

  • Build credibility and influence at all levels of the organisation, including senior leaders and decision-makers, adapting communication style and messages to suit different audiences and securing buy-in for AI-driven change and innovation initiatives
  • Translate business challenges into clear functional and non-functional requirements, working collaboratively with technical teams to design AI enabled solutions that meet real needs
  • Manage and prioritise a pipeline of AI initiatives, partnering with data scientists and leadership to focus effort on the highest impact projects for maximum value
  • Contribute to our wider AI adoption strategy through insight, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based recommendations to guide direction
  • Advocate best practice in business analysis, promoting consistency, quality and knowledge sharing across the department to develop capability
  • Gain experience delivering experimental and innovative projects that address real world challenges such as financial crime and consumer protection to create tangible outcomes
