Job summary

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organization to evaluate how well AI systems perform real-world accounting work. You will define what excellent work looks like by designing task-specific grading criteria and scoring completed work samples with rigorous, well-reasoned written justifications.

The role focuses on creating evaluation criteria for reconciliations, close packages, financial statements and disclosures, and related workpapers, then applying consistent judgment to score

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Background in audit, assurance, or advisory at leading firms or senior accounting roles at large public companies.
• Deep fluency in US GAAP application, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and audit-ready workpapers.

Responsibilities

• Design precise, task-specific grading criteria for real-world accounting deliverables.
• Score AI-generated and human work samples with detailed written justifications.
• Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment so scores are reproducible and defensible.
• Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate quickly on your work.
