Job summary

Anglesey Primary School in Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Headteacher to lead SEND & Inclusion and oversee the Speech & Language Resource Base and two ASD provisions. We are seeking an ambitious and experienced leader to join our SLT as Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for SEND & Inclusion.

This role includes leadership of our Speech & Language Resource Base and two enhanced provisions for pupils with Autism (ASD), alongside whole-school responsibility for SEND, EAL and vulnerable learners.

We are looking for a leader with:

• Experience of specialist provision or resource bases
• Proven leadership and ability to drive school improvement

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a leader who:

• Has a strong track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, particularly those with complex needs
• Has experience of working within or alongside specialist provision (e.g. resource bases or enhanced provisions)
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of inclusive pedagogy, communication needs and autism
• Has experience of leading staff, driving improvement and delivering impactful CPD
• Is confident in analysing data and using it to inform strategic decision-making
• Builds strong, professional relationships with pupils, families, staff and external partners
• Is committed to our values of Ambition, Pride and Success

The successful candidate will either hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or be willing to undertake it.
