Do you have a passion for agriculture and a drive to inspire the next generation of land-based learners? We're seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Agriculture Technician Instructor to join our dynamic team at our thriving Common Leys Farm Campus.
As an Agriculture Technician Instructor, you'll play a key role in delivering practical instruction across a range of agricultural disciplines including livestock husbandry, arable farming, farm machinery operation, and sustainable land management. Working closely with our teaching staff, you'll ensure that students gain valuable, real-world skills through active participation on our working college farm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and practical support for the care and management of a variety of livestock species on the college farm.
- Deliver engaging and informative livestock practical sessions to students across Level 1, 2, and 3 Agriculture and Animal Care programs, including T Levels.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of learning environments, resources, and equipment for practical sessions.
- Supervise and guide students during hands-on activities, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Monitor and maintain the health and welfare of animals in line with welfare standards and college procedures.
- Contribute to the upkeep of livestock records and farm operations.
- Assist with weekend and holiday animal care on a rota basis (as required).
About You:- Practical experience working with a range of farm animals.
- Strong knowledge of livestock husbandry and farm procedures.
- A keen interest in education and mentoring students in a practical setting.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to engage learners of all levels.
- A relevant Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Agriculture or Animal Care is desirable.
- Previous experience in an educational or training role is an advantage, but not essential.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a team-player attitude.
