Our client, a large public sector organisation based in Larne, is seeking an Agriculture Inspector to join their team.
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate of pay: £17.40 per hour (including a 20% shift disturbance allowance)
Location: Larne
Hours: 37 hours per week. The role involves shift work, including regular weekends and nights. The four-week shift pattern covers 3 shifts of approximately 8.24 hours each within a 24-hour cycle.
The role supports veterinary staff in conducting sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) checks on eligible goods entering Northern Ireland at ports and airports, effective from January 1, 2021. The Inspector Group 1 will monitor the import and export of livestock, animal products, poultry, plants, and timber, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting checks to prevent illegal movements, and issuing notices for non-compliance. They will also assist in investigating discrepancies in animal import/export and conduct inspections to prevent the entry of epizootic diseases.
