Job summary

FGS Agri is looking for a practical and organised Assistant Contracting Manager to support the planning and delivery of its agricultural, environmental and specialist contracting services. Working alongside the Contracting Manager, you will coordinate projects, seasonal workloads, operational teams, machinery, transport, materials and subcontractors across the South East.

• Experience coordinating projects and teams in a contracting environment.
• Ability to plan labour, machinery, transport and materials.
• Strong safety, QA and cost awareness.
• Reliable and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects and report progress, costs and issues.
• Plan labour, machinery, transport, materials and subcontractors.
• Prepare work instructions, site plans, risk assessments and toolbox talks.
• Support teams and carry out site safety and quality inspections.
• Assist with agricultural, vegetation management, tree clearance and seasonal contracting work.
• Coordinate hay and straw operations, harvest and deliveries.
• Monitor machinery availability, utilisation and costs.
• Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Support seasonal recruitment and training needs.
• Identify opportunities to grow customer relationships.
• Provide hands-on support during peak periods.
