Job summary

Ripon Farm Services is seeking an Agricultural Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of agricultural machinery both in the workshop and on customer farms. You will travel locally, promoting the company while delivering quality service and ensuring equipment runs efficiently during critical farming periods.

You will perform routine diagnostics, provide advice on optimisation techniques, complete required reports, and undergo manufacturer training.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driving licence.
• Experience in field service or mobile support is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and farms.

Role Overview

As an Agricultural Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of agricultural machinery, both in the workshop and out in the field. This is a varied and hands-on role that plays a vital part in ensuring our customers’ equipment is kept running efficiently during critical farming periods.

Duties

• To work in a busy Service Department performing maintenance and repairs on agricultural machinery. This work will often be done at customer’s farms ensuring plenty of local travel around the area.

Qualities

• The role requires you to act in a professional manner and actively promote Ripon Farm Services with positivity and integrity.
• Through your knowledge and experience, advise customers on optimisation techniques for their machines, products and services.
• Perform routine maintenance diagnostics and repairs in the field and at the depot workshop when required.
• Complete all reports and administration required for work assignments on time.
• Understand manufacturers’ customer care process.
• Successfully complete mandatory training to support product knowledge and to maintain and develop your skills and knowledge.
• Comply with all Health and Safety legislation, Company Policies and Procedures, to ensure safety of all staff, customers, and visitors.
• Perform pre-delivery set up on new or used equipment and supports service specialists when required.
• A driving licence will be required as there will be a need to drive company vehicles and agricultural equipment.
• Knowledge of agricultural equipment would be preferred but full training on products and systems and will be provided.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday (8am till 5pm) with flexible overtime to suit the business demands, this will be seasonally, evenings and weekends.
