We are seeking a highly motivated, driven and people focussed professional Agricultural Sales Representative with a passion for sales and customer success to join our dynamic retail and feed sales working from our Annan Country Store and serving the Southwest Scotland area. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about serving and supporting the Rural and Agricultural industry and who is ready to establish and develop their Sales territory, build lasting customer relationships, and drive sales across our feed and retail product lines, whilst ensuring that the highest level of customer satisfaction and standards are maintained.

THE JOB

Your main accountabilities will include:

  • To achieve agreed sales targets through having a proactive approach to sales, to actively seek out new customers while nurturing existing relationships to grow sales and upsell our products and services.
  • To have detailed product knowledge, explaining the features and benefits to maximise both feed and retail sales.
  • To engage with customers building a rapport with them and understanding their needs to maximise feed and retail sales.
  • To manage a Sales Pipeline identifying potential new customers to drive sales performance.
  • To communicate well in person, via phone or email to articulate the benefits of products and services to maximise feed and retail sales.
  • To have product presentation skills to confidently demonstrate our products and services and answer any questions that potential customers may have to maximise feed and retail sales.
  • To have negotiation skills and be able to understand the customer's budget to offer competitive pricing options that meet the customer's requirements and maximise margin contribution.
  • To manage all customer debt, to ensure it is kept within company credit policies.
  • To adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
  • To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED

  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a hunger to exceed targets.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable experience of driving growth in sales.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Experience of managing a sales ledger using a CRM system
  • Strong product presentation and customer engagement abilities
  • Experience in sales, preferably in feed, retail, or a related industry
  • A commitment to compliance and safety standards
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in an Agricultural setting
  • Experience with feed/fertiliser/equine products
  • AMTRA qualification, but training can be given to achieve this.
  • Confident and competent user of Microsoft applications systems and fully IT literate.
  • Previous experience of using D365.
