Qualifications

The Job Role Details

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Agricultural Fabricator / Welder to join a workshop operations team. This is a hands-on role, to design, fabricate, modify, and repair agricultural machinery, equipment, and structures using welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques, ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency for on-farm operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabrication of new parts, frames, and equipment to drawings or verbal instructions.
  • Welding repairs and modifications on farm machinery, trailers, attachments, and steel structures.
  • Carrying out MIG, TIG, and stick welding to a high standard.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Cutting, drilling, grinding, and finishing metal components.
  • Operating workshop tools and equipment safely (e.g., presses, saws, drills, grinders, plasma cutters).
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and workshop cleanliness.
  • Assisting with on and off-site breakdown repairs where welding/fabrication is required.
  • Working in line with health & safety policies, including safe handling of gases, hot work, and PPE use.
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven welding experience (MIG, stick; TIG desirable).
  • Strong fabrication skills (measuring, cutting, assembling).
  • Ability to work from technical drawings or adapt designs practically.
  • Knowledge of agricultural machinery and implements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
