Job summary

Alecto Recruitment is seeking an experienced Agricultural Engineer to join a leading agricultural machinery specialist in County Durham. You will service, maintain, diagnose and repair machinery at customer sites and in the workshop, ensuring high standards of customer service.

The role offers ongoing manufacturer training, a clear progression path, and a comprehensive benefits package including a company vehicle (where applicable), pension, life insurance and healthcare, and 24 days of holiday

Qualifications

• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing agricultural machinery.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding abilities.
• Confident working independently in a field-based environment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on agricultural machinery both at customer sites and in the workshop.
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs.
• Prepare and commission new and used agricultural equipment prior to customer delivery.
• Complete job reports and service documentation accurately while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Provide customers with advice on machine operation, maintenance and performance optimisation.

Agricultural Engineer • £13.00 - £18.00 per hour (DOE) • County Durham

Salary & Benefits

• £13.00 - £18.00 per hour (DOE)


• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm


• Overtime available during seasonal peaks, including evenings and weekends

Role

• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing agricultural, plant, construction, HGV or similar machinery.


• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault‑finding abilities.


• Confident working independently in a field‑based environment.


• Excellent customer service and communication skills.


• Full UK driving licence.


• Agricultural machinery experience is advantageous; full product training will be provided for the right candidate.
