Job summary

Reed Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking an Agricultural Service Technician to join their growing machinery business. The role combines workshop servicing with field service across the local area, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and keeping machinery operational during peak farming periods.

You will service, maintain, and repair agricultural machinery, attend farms, perform inspections, and provide technical support while undergoing manufacturer training and progressing your career

Qualifications

• Previous experience within agricultural machinery, plant equipment, HGV, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, automotive, or similar engineering environments.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Good understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage customer-facing responsibilities.
• Professional, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Agricultural machinery experience is advantageous, but full product training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.

• Completing machine inspections and preventative maintenance work.
• Preparing new and used machinery for delivery.

• Working safely and following all company health and safety procedures.
• Participating in ongoing manufacturer and technical training programmes.

This role combines workshop-based servicing with field service work, supporting customers across the local area. You'll be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring machinery remains operational during critical farming periods.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Overtime available during seasonal peak periods, including occasional evenings and weekends.
