Job summary

News UK is seeking an experienced Agile PM to join The Sun team, working closely with development, product and stakeholders to deliver new functionality. You will guide self-organising teams, manage iterative delivery and leverage AI to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.

The role requires strong agile experience, effective communication with senior stakeholders and a collaborative mindset to drive fast, high-impact results in a hybrid office environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience using a range of agile project management methods.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity.
  • Experience in communicating and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in matrix managing multi-disciplinary teams (Product, Engineering etc.).

Responsibilities

  • The delivery of projects and products in The Sun team using the appropriate agile project management methodology (both Scrum and Kanban), learning & iterating frequently.
  • Lead a collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team.
  • Enable teams to solve problems, remove blockers, improve flow and make timely decisions
  • Engage with Senior Stakeholders regularly, ensuring delivery proposals are understood and providing clear visibility of progress, risks, issues and dependencies through effective reporting, tooling and dashboards.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams from project initiation to establish context, clarify scope and ownership, and build iterative delivery plans.
  • Ensure clear accountability across teams, with the right people involved in the right forums to make decisions and deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Leverage AI effectively in daily work and continuously identify new opportunities to improve speed and quality of processes.

Your team: The Sun comprises digital product teams supporting development and enhancement of The Sun Website, The Sun Mobile App, Sun Club and Sun Savers. It’s an exciting time for us as we align workstreams to be more innovative and audience facing.

We are an agile, cross-functional programme, working together to ensure the digital products can continue to meet the needs of the business and customers by improving the user experience, underlying platform and operational tools for teams.

Your role:

We’re looking for an experienced Agile PM to join The Sun team. You’ll work with the development team, product team and stakeholders across the business. We need a talented, self starting Agile PM to help guide the team as they deliver new functionality for our brands.

You’ll show passion for technical challenges and the bravery to take risks with bold ideas. We want you to help us build self-organised, highly motivated teams with the curiosity to unravel complex problems and the optimism to take exciting, innovative approaches.

Day to day you will:
