Job summary

Alfred H Knight is seeking an Agile Delivery Manager to join our IT function, with 3 days on-site in Prescot and 2 days remote. You will lead Agile practices, coordinate software releases, and align IT with business goals across global operations.

The role requires strong SDLC and DevOps experience, plus stakeholder management. A Scrum Master certification and a degree are preferred, with a focus on continuous delivery improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with agile and hybrid delivery models.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
• Knowledge of release and change management processes, including ITIL governance.
• Basic understanding of software architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate key Scrum events and coach teams on Agile best practices.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead software releases across the full lifecycle.
• Act as the cross-functional bridge between development teams, QA, IT Support, and business partners.
• Drive continuous improvement to automate deployment speed and quality.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including agile and hybrid delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
• Knowledge of release and change management processes, including integration with ITIL functions and governance requirements.
• Basic understanding of software architecture concepts, APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and microservices.

Required Competencies

• Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
• Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring fresh, creative ideas to challenges.
• Proactive, curious, and solution-oriented with a drive to challenge the status quo and exemplify Agile values.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.

Required Work Experience

• Proven experience working in an Agile Delivery role (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Manager, Software Delivery Manager, Product Owner).
• Demonstrable experience facilitating meetings across multiple organisational levels.
• Strong experience managing stakeholder expectations and navigating complex stakeholder scenarios.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Scrum Master qualification (preferred).
• Degree educated (desirable).
