The Agile Change and Portfolio Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end delivery of projects within their assigned portfolio as part of the Risk & Compliance Transformation Portfolio Execution team. Key responsibilities include planning, mobilising, and delivering projects of varying complexity, managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, and benefits realisation. They will deploy the HSBC Change Framework; ensure alignment with the wider portfolio The successful candidate will work closely with their Delivery Director to manage the portfolio and assist the Central PMO in implementing necessary processes within their team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in project or programme management and a solid understanding of Risk & Compliance Transformation operations.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the planning and execution of change programmes and projects within the Bank, ensuring alignment with business priorities, timelines, and delivery outcomes.
  • Provide regular, insight-driven updates to senior stakeholders on project progress, risks, and benefits.
  • Manage resources and financials at the initiative level, ensuring efficient use of budgets, vendor oversight, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Collaborate across Risk and Compliance Transformation Leadership, Global Business, and Global Functions to ensure joined-up and value-led delivery.
  • Create a comprehensive overview of change programmes for the portfolio to provide a clear view of the portfolio's characteristics, anticipated and actual benefits, status, and resource supply and demand. Offer insights that go beyond basic reporting, highlighting how different projects and initiatives interact and impact broader portfolio outcomes.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • A solid understanding of Programme and Portfolio Management is essential. Experience in delivering change initiatives and familiarity with delivery methodologies, such as waterfall and agile, are necessary.
  • A strong grasp of Risk & Compliance Transformation, along with knowledge of retail risk analytics, emerging technologies, and issue management, is highly desirable. Candidates should also be proficient in financial management and capable of planning, tracking, and monitoring programme and portfolio performance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills are essential; the ability to build effective internal and external networks and collaborate with others to achieve objectives and key results is crucial.
  • Must have a robust understanding of how to analyse, interpret, and work with both financial and non-financial information, including variance reporting.
  • The role demands an adaptable and resilient individual with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

This role is based in Birmingham on a hybrid working basis.
