Job description

We are seeking a talented Agile Business Analyst to join the team based in our London office.

Note: This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

At Darwin, we are dedicated to delivering innovative software solutions that enhance our platform. Our Software Engineering Team operates within an agile framework, utilising SCRUM methodologies to focus on continuous improvement and collaboration in delivering high-quality features, fixes, and enhancements to the Darwin platform.

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Agile Business Analyst (Agile BA) to join our Software Engineering Team. The Agile BA will play a critical role in transforming high-level requirements into actionable epics and user stories, ensuring our squads can effectively deliver on the product roadmap. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and organisational skills, a proven track record in learning complex domains, and experience working on software products, particularly in the employee benefits sector.

We will count on you to:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine high-level, prioritised requirements into clear and manageable epics that can be easily understood and estimated by the team.
  • Take ownership of breaking down epics into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, working closely with subject matter experts and team members to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Demonstrate comfort with technical content and analysis, identifying potential issues or decisions that may lead to increased technical debt or degrade the integrity of the Darwin platform.
  • Work closely with all team members, including Quality Assurance, to ensure alignment between testing criteria and acceptance criteria, facilitating a seamless delivery process.
  • Monitor the progress of development and delivery, addressing any questions or queries from the team to keep projects on track.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing decisions and ensuring that the needs of the business are met.
  • Participate in retrospectives and other agile ceremonies to contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices within the team.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in an agile environment, preferably within software development.
  • A strong ability to learn complex domains quickly, with a focus on software products.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus.
  • Previous experience in breaking down high-level requirements into epics and user stories.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to engage with technical content and analysis.

What makes you stand out?

  • Knowledge of Employee Benefits or experience working in the Employee Benefits domain.
  • Experience of working in a software product team or organisation.
  • Understanding of software architecture, software design, and functional and non-functional requirements.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.

If you are passionate about agile methodologies and have a strong desire to contribute to the success of the Darwin platform, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
