Job summary

ClearRoute is seeking a backend engineer to design and build the scalable Python microservices and API layer powering an AI-driven code modernisation platform. You will help orchestrate agentic workflows, integrate external capabilities, and ensure production-grade reliability at scale.

You should have hands-on Python, microservices, distributed systems experience, and real curiosity in GenAI, LLMs, and agent frameworks.

Qualifications

• Strong Python engineering and production-grade code with real-world load handling.
• Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs in production.
• Solid software design principles and distributed/asynchronous system knowledge.
• Genuine interest in GenAI and agentic systems with practical delivery experience.
• Practical experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, or prompt engineering in real projects.
• Direct experience with MCP or similar agent tool-serving patterns.
• Git workflow automation and GitHub/GitLab API integration for developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Python microservices and APIs powering agentic workflows in production.
• Build and integrate MCP servers and tools, enabling agents to reliably discover, call, and chain external capabilities.
• Own backend services lifecycle for AI agents, ensuring robustness, observability, testing and production readiness.
• Shape agentic architecture decisions, including tool-calling patterns and multi-agent orchestration.
