Job summary

ClearRoute is seeking a backend engineer to design and build the scalable Python microservices and API layer powering an AI-driven code modernisation platform. You will help orchestrate agentic workflows, integrate external capabilities, and ensure production-grade reliability at scale.

You should have hands-on Python, microservices, distributed systems experience, and real curiosity in GenAI, LLMs, and agent frameworks.

Qualifications

Strong Python engineering and production-grade code with real-world load handling.
Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs in production.
Solid software design principles and distributed/asynchronous system knowledge.
Genuine interest in GenAI and agentic systems with practical delivery experience.
Practical experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, or prompt engineering in real projects.
Direct experience with MCP or similar agent tool-serving patterns.
Git workflow automation and GitHub/GitLab API integration for developer tooling.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable Python microservices and APIs powering agentic workflows in production.
Build and integrate MCP servers and tools, enabling agents to reliably discover, call, and chain external capabilities.
Own backend services lifecycle for AI agents, ensuring robustness, observability, testing and production readiness.
Shape agentic architecture decisions, including tool-calling patterns and multi-agent orchestration.
