Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Agent to join a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering works as part of a major long-term water framework across London. The role suits someone with a strong civil engineering or utilities background and the ability to manage delivery teams on a busy programme.

You will coordinate site activities, monitor progress, manage RAMS and permits, and work with the client and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Agent, Site Agent or similar.
• Strong civil engineering construction background.
• Experience on water/utilities/infrastructure projects.
• Tier 1 or major-project experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery of projects and packages.
• Lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors.
• Ensure safety, programme delivery and quality standards.
• Manage construction programmes, resources and site activities.
• Liaise with client, designers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Agent with a strong civil engineering or utilities background to join an established delivery team working across a varied programme of water infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day delivery of projects and packages of works
• Leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards
• Managing construction programmes, resources and site activities
• Liaising with the client, designers, subcontractors and other key stakeholders
• Monitoring progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions
• Managing RAMS, permits and relevant site documentation
• Supporting commercial teams with cost control, variations and forecasting
• Ensuring compliance with company health, safety, environmental and quality procedures
• Driving a strong safety culture across the project

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Agent, Site Agent or similar
• Strong civil engineering construction background
• Experience within water, utilities, infrastructure or other major civil engineering projects
• Previous Tier 1 or major-project experience would be highly advantageous
• Strong understanding of health & safety and construction delivery
• Experience managing site teams and subcontractors
• Good commercial awareness and ability to work to programme
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Relevant civil engineering qualification or demonstrable industry experience
• SMSTS and CSCS would be advantageous
