Job description

Who are A Thousand Monkeys?

We’re an employee-owned communications agency that specialises in

persuasive and compelling copy that helps our clients get results.

Our work helps brands define their proposition and create Tone of Voice

programmes that give them a stronger identity.

We specialise in the Higher Education sector and support a range of B2B

companies to engage their clients more effectively.

As well as writing sparkling copy, we train people to write more creatively,

persuasively, and productively through our Sharper Copywriting workshops.

We’re a small, friendly team of self-starters. We meet in person and work

throughout the week in our Bournemouth office.

We’re looking for someone to build on our success.

Due to sustained growth, and a team member going off on maternity leave,

we’re looking for a friendly, well-organised detail demon to make sure

everything in and out of the office runs smoothly. This will be a fixed term

contract for 12 months, with the potential to develop into a permanent

position.

In this fast-paced varied role, you’ll be responsible for the full project cycle.

This includes direct contact with our existing clients, guiding and supporting

our team writers to manage their work and make sure client deadlines are

met on time, as well as monitoring project budgets.

You will also support our targeted marketing campaigns, newsletters, and

training sessions.

What sort of person are we looking for?

You’ll be a self-motivated, process-driven, methodical thinker, planner, do-

er, and finisher with the ability to switch focus quickly and regularly re-

prioritise work, while remaining calm.

This role will suit you if you have several years of experience working as a

client-facing account exec/manager or junior production manager ready to

take the next step. Experience managing multiple client projects or other

people’s workloads is a must.

It is essential you can communicate clearly, write well, and have an

excellent eye for detail, data, words (and typos).

You’ll make decisions for yourself, take ownership of your role and develop

it to suit your skill set. As your role progresses, you’ll work closely with the

senior leadership team to support the strategic direction of the agency and

ensure we run smoothly

As this role is involved in all aspects of agency life, you must be available to

work in our Bournemouth office at least two days a week.

What will you do?

  • Attend client scoping meetings
  • Manage projects from inception to completion
  • Organise the writing team so that client work is delivered on time
  • Collate and track writers' timesheets against project deadlines
  • Run daily planning meetings
  • Monitor and manage project finances to deliver work to budget
  • Support our head trainer to deliver our copywriting workshops
  • Keep internal spreadsheets and CRM systems up to date
  • Liaise with and manage external freelancers
  • Work closely with the senior team to manage existing client relationships and highlight opportunities where they would benefit from further writing and training.

What’s in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of and benefit from the success of

an established but growing agency. We’re employee-owned so your efforts

will have a direct impact on your career. You’ll get out what you put in.

You’ll also receive:

  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare and pension contribution
  • Eligibility to receive tax-free bonuses
  • 25 days holiday + your birthday + bank holidays
  • Access to a yearly training budget
  • Hybrid working from central Bournemouth office and home
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • Team lunches and celebrations

We are a thriving agency with a warm and supportive culture. Work-life

balance is a priority and employee wellbeing is at the heart of success. Our fantastic offices are on the beachfront in Bournemouth. We share our space with other dynamic business creating a palpable sense of creativity and positivity.
