Barnsley Football Club is seeking a dedicated youth coach to support player development within the Academy. The role involves delivering coaching sessions, managing age groups on match days, and ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies. Candidates should possess relevant coaching qualifications and a commitment to promoting a positive environment for young athletes.

Reports into:Academy Manager - Head of Coaching - Lead Phase Coach
Key relationships: Lead Coach - Sport Science Staff - Medical Staff - Academy Administrator
Purpose and objectives:
• To deal with all requirements in respect of the allocated age groups, supporting the leadcoaches in developing players training, education, playing and welfare.
• To deliver coaching and match day sessions aligned to our philosophy and culture.
• To highlight, develop, progress and improve players the Bradford City way, providing apathway for talent to achieve a scholarship at Bradford City and/or at a higher level.
Safeguarding:
• The Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and youngpeople and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
• This role involves the supervision of and working with children and young people and isexempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and applicants must disclose allprevious convictions including spent convictions.
• Training in safeguarding and EDI, including how and who to contact and our reportingprocedures and mechanisms, will be provided.
• It is a requirement that all successful applicants read, work to and keep abreast of theClub’s policies in these areas.
• Work to the Academy Coaches’ Code of Conduct for daily standards, coaching,matchday and reviewing of processes.
• Support the lead coaches in all key tasks and, as needed, provide cover in their absence.• Coach players to the required standard as defined by the Academy programme.
• Manage an age group on match days enforcing the Parents and Players Code of Conduct.• Work collaboratively with other age group coaches and medical staff in the Academy, inparticular coaches of age groups directly above and below your own.

• Work well with and be responsive to the Club and Academy safeguarding teams.
• Assist the Head of Recruitment in delivering the recruitment strategy.
• Maintain player safety in your age group until they are collected and your duty ends.
Other requirements:
• Be an active and effective member of the Academy team.
• Prepare and deliver reports as asked to do so.
• Maintain a good understanding of the culture and values of Bradford City Football Club.
• Work within and adhere to all Academy policies and procedures.
• Develop positive working relationships with key internal stakeholders including the LeadPhase Coach, Head of Coaching and Academy Manager.
• As requested, undertake all other reasonable duties that support the Academy.
Skills and qualifications:
• Working towards completion of modules 1-3 of the Advanced youth award.
• Current FA Emergency First Aid in Football Certificate
• Valid Driving license
• A satisfactory disclosure from an enhanced DBS.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Your attendance has an impact on the work that we do. Before you start in post you will beasked to provide any dates that you are not available to work during the season. To maintainconsistency in our work, it is a requirement of your engagement with the Academy and in thisrole that no more than 3 sessions/matches are missed throughout the season.
