Job Description

Thomas Sherriff has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Agricultural Sales Professional in the Southern region of our business. We are looking for an individual to grow our Agricultural Division in the West area of Hexham, selling market-leading brands including John Deere, Kuhn Farm Machinery, Kramer telehandlers & loaders, Dal-Bo, Stewart Agriculture, and Ifor Williams. The successful candidate should be a forward-thinking individual, preferably with knowledge of modern agricultural machinery and farming practices. Good IT skills are essential to utilize all available sales tools, including a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management system. Knowledge of the Hexham area would be advantageous. We offer a very competitive salary, sales commission, a company car, and a pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the dealership in selling machinery within a defined sales area.
  • Execute all sales process steps to achieve high sales performance using available tools from John Deere.
  • Maintain current product knowledge of equipment and services, attending relevant sales training.
  • Stay informed about financing options to assist customers in purchasing new and used equipment.
  • Monitor competitor activity and communicate insights to sales management.
  • Conduct field demonstrations.
  • Manage delivery and follow-up according to Customer Care processes.
  • Build strong relationships with customers in the sales area.
  • Monitor industry trends and communicate relevant information to management.
  • Utilize support from Sales Specialists when needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferably 1+ years of equipment sales experience, with full training provided.
  • Good knowledge of agricultural equipment and farming practices.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications, internet, and sales tools.
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours.
  • Integrity and honesty with a positive attitude.
