Job summary

Outwood Junior Academy Brumby, part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support planned learning activities and assist pupils with SEND/EAL in the afternoons. The role is term-time only, 10 hours a week, with two additional days, starting 23 November 2026.

The successful candidate will train in pupils' medical and care plans and help with intervention teaching and monitoring pupil progress. Experience in a school setting is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience of working effectively in a school environment or with children/young people.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to work flexibly to meet business needs.
• Proficiency in ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Implement planned learning activities alongside class teachers.
• Support pupils with SEND or EAL, individually and in small groups.
• Manage intervention work for SEND/EAL pupils.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Help develop individual plans such as One Page Profiles and EHCPs.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and academic well-being.
• Assist with eating, dressing and hygiene where required.
• Cover and assist in intervention settings such as the Bridge and PLC.
• Escort and supervise pupils on educational visits.
• Invigilate formal examinations.
